Teasers

A teaser is a lure or rig without a hook, placed ahead of the main lure, designed to simulate a small baitfish and trigger a reflex strike from predators.

At sea, teasers are particularly effective for sea bass, pollack, mackerel and other pelagic predators. They are also deadly in freshwater for perch and other actively feeding fish. 

They are simple to rig, often with a discreet fluorocarbon leader, and can be set up quickly before hitting the water.

By combining a teaser matched to the size of natural prey with a main lure, you create a "competition" or "flee" effect that triggers the fish's instinct, increasing the chances of a strike, especially when the predator shows hesitation or wariness.
