Which rod should you choose for fishing?

Lure weight

To choose your rod correctly, you must first take into account the weight of the lures you are going to cast. The maximum weight must not exceed the intended casting range of the rod.

Rod length

As for length, a boat rod will tend to be shorter (up to around 2.30m) in order to stay within the sonar beam, but also because — unlike a rod intended for long-distance shore fishing which will tend to be longer (from 2.40–2.50m) — you will have fewer obstacles to work around, fewer headwind casts to make, etc.
