St Croix is a brand that has existed since 1948. Starting out with bamboo rods, fiberglass was introduced in 1955, followed by graphite in 1983 and then carbon in 2005 — the brand never stops innovating and developing. Which rod to choose?

Lure weight

To choose the right rod, you first need to take into account the weight of the lures you will be casting. The maximum weight must not exceed the recommended casting range for the rod.

Rod length

Then, regarding length, a boat rod will tend to be shorter (up to about 2.30m) to stay within the sonar beam, for example, but also because unlike a rod for fishing far from the bank which will tend to be longer (from 2.40-50m), you will have fewer obstacles to navigate around, less casting into the wind, etc.
