The selection of our team of enthusiasts
Which rod to choose for fly fishing?
Depending on the fish you want to catch, the choice of technique and therefore of rod will evolve.
Dry fly trout fishing in rivers
Depending on the size of the watercourse, the length will vary from 6' to 10' for lines ranging from #3 to #6. A versatile base is a 9' rod with a #4/5 line.
Trout / grayling nymphing in rivers
Depending on the size of the watercourse, the length will vary from 10' to 11' for lines ranging from #2 to #4 or with direct nylon. A good starting base would be a 10'6 rod with a #2/3 line for small watercourses and a 10'9 with a #3/4 line for medium to large watercourses.
Trout and other stillwater and lake species
The length will vary from 9'6' to 10' for lines ranging from #6 to #8. A versatile base is a 10' rod with a #7 line.
Freshwater and saltwater predators
The length will be around 9' for lines ranging from #6/7 up to #15 depending on the species. A versatile base is a 9' rod with a #8/9 line for bass, #10 for pike, #12 and above for tuna or exotic fishing.
