This Skagit max short shooting head is perfect for switch rods and short two-handed rods (between 12 and 13 feet). This powerful head casts large flies and fast-sinking leaders perfectly. The "ConnectCore" technology provides the rigidity needed for bite detection and maximum performance. The rear section is a bright fluorescent orange colour, making it easy to spot the line in the water when resetting the cast. Short = for rods under 12'6"

River from 10 to 25 m. Shorter version (6.10 m) of the Skagit Max for rods of 12'6" or less. Advantage: Even more compact rear loop (shorter head). Disadvantages: Very short head does not facilitate anchoring the line. Less delicate presentation. Much line to retrieve between each cast. Uses: Fishing at medium distance (large fly/heavy tip) with little clearance behind.
