The Hanák H333 BL is considered the original hook shape used by Czech fly fishers for tying gammarus and pupae. Its slightly curved shank faithfully reproduces the natural appearance of a swimming gammarus.
Live gammarus generally display a slight curve when swimming through the water, while a more pronounced curve is more characteristic of a dead or motionless individual among mosses and weed beds. The profile of the H333 BL was therefore designed to imitate the insect as closely as possible in its natural situation.
Ideal for tying gammarus, scuds, pupae and other curved nymphs.
