Very early on, I decided that fishing would be my way of looking at the world. It first taught me to look at rivers. Recently, it has taught me to look at people, myself included. The reader accustomed to fishing manuals, which I appreciate myself, must think I am going astray. I simply feel that fishing is no longer limited to simple technical or geographical questions. The Bible tells us to observe and listen. This gives us an idea of what fishing should be: making use of the ceremonial surrounding our sport and passion to awaken greater resonances within ourselves.
