The "Flor Escoba" colour is one of the most specific and sought-after traditional shades of the Pardo de León cock. "Flor escoba" literally translates as "broom flower". This name refers to the wild Spanish plant (Genista), whose yellow and dry flowers, mixed with their brown stems, are reminiscent of the subtle hue of the feathers in question. A slightly veiled appearance, less contrasted than the Encendido or the Oscuro.

The variation between grades is mainly explained by two determining parameters.
It is primarily the fibre length as well as the pique — that is, their density and orientation — that determine the classification into different grades.
