The 113 BLH is primarily used for nymphs, particularly for fishing large trout or in fast water, where a strong and well-penetrating hook is needed. It can also be used for slightly bulkier dry flies, provided the materials are carefully balanced to prevent the heavier hook from sinking the fly.
Thanks to its reinforced shank and inward-turned point, it offers a good compromise between strength, hold and penetration, while remaining barbless for a gentler approach to fish handling. It is often chosen as a more robust alternative to the 103BL, especially when targeting larger specimens or when you want more confidence at the strike.

Specifications:

• Single hook, straight shank, barbless, round eye.
• Wire strength: 1XH (heavier than the 3XF of the 103BL), which enhances hold against large fish and prolonged fights.
• Eye: turned down ("down eye"), which helps to correctly position the fly and limit rotation.
• Finish: matte black
• Point: inward-turned, very sharp, optimized for good hook penetration and secure fish retention.
