The Bubble Emerger is a particularly innovative emerger pattern. Its buoyancy is provided by a small air bubble enclosed in a durable plastic film, giving it an almost completely transparent and highly natural appearance.

The principle is to work the fly just beneath the surface film, thus avoiding the double-image phenomenon that could alert fish if it were floating on the surface. This discretion also makes it barely visible to the angler, and that is precisely what makes it so effective. Simply follow the drift of the leader and strike as soon as a rise occurs along its path.

Tied on a TMC 921 hook, the Bubble Emerger sits almost vertically beneath the surface, in the manner of a Klinkhamer, but remaining submerged. It perfectly imitates a mayfly in the process of emerging, when the nymph is attempting to pierce the surface film.

Usage tip: avoid pinching the bubble between your fingers in order to preserve its buoyancy.
