The Sub-Merger is a particularly innovative emerger fly. Its buoyancy is provided by a small air bubble trapped inside a durable plastic film, giving it an almost completely transparent and highly natural appearance.

Its principle is to keep the fly just below the surface film of the water, thus avoiding the double-image effect that could alert fish if it were floating on the surface. This discretion also makes it barely visible to the angler, and that is precisely what makes it so effective. Simply follow the drift of the leader and strike as soon as a rise occurs along its path.

Tied on a curved hook TMC 200R, the Sub-Merger sits almost vertically just below the surface, in the manner of a Klinkhamer, but remaining submerged. It perfectly imitates a mayfly in the process of emerging, when the nymph attempts to break through the surface film.

Usage tip: avoid pinching the bubble between your fingers in order to preserve its buoyancy.
