Thanks to its refractive index close to that of water, this fluorocarbon ensures optimal stealth, both in dry fly and nymph fishing. Underwater, it becomes virtually invisible while maintaining excellent strength, which noticeably improves the strike rate.

Stiffer than nylon, the MAXIMA Fluorocarbon 180m line efficiently transmits casting energy to the fly. This controlled stiffness ensures better accuracy and optimal drift control. Its high abrasion resistance allows use in cluttered areas or with powerful fish.

Durability and UV stability

Unlike nylon, whose strength can significantly decrease after sun exposure, MAXIMA fluorocarbon is virtually unaffected by ultraviolet rays. It thus retains its mechanical performance over time, even with intensive use.

Connection tip

To reinforce the strength of the rig, it is recommended to tie the tippet or the leader tippet in fluorocarbon to a strand of nylon of identical or very similar diameter, in order to optimize knot strength.
