    Description

    The Nitro Shad 150

The Nitro Shad 150 is a soft lure of the shad type (with a paddle tail) featuring an ultra-reactive body, a tight vibration and Nitro Booster attractant. It is a benchmark lure for targeting sea bass, pike and zander, especially when they are focused on powerful vibrations. Designed for predator fishing at sea and in fresh water, this shad delivers a powerful, high-frequency vibrating action thanks to the specific shape of its tail and the stiffness of its body. To rig it perfectly, don't forget the Nitro Shad heads.

Tips from our team of enthusiasts

    Rigging the Nitro Shad

To get the most out of the Nitro Shad's vibration, it should be rigged on a Nitro Shad Head jig head. The hook shank must not be parallel to the axis of the lure, but rigged so that the head is angled downwards. Seen from the side, the tail will be angled downwards, just like the jig head. Rigged this way, on the retrieve, the lure will set itself against the water and multiply its vibratory impact.

This size is also perfect for rigging on a so-called "360°" setup where, in addition to the jig head, a treble hook is added on the belly. It is deadly when fish come up from the bottom to take the lure.

    Linear retrieve or twitching?

Originally designed for twitching (a "pull" phase upward with the rod, followed by a controlled descent), this lure also handles fast linear retrieves perfectly.

    Colour

As for colour, the starting point will be the environment. The clearer it is, the more natural tones you should use; the more opaque it is, the more flashy or dark shades — even black — you should go for. This is a base that will need to be adjusted depending on the day.

If you have any questions about choosing a rod, the rigs best suited to your fishing area or the type of line (braid, monofilament, fluorocarbon) to put on your reel, don't hesitate to contact us via our website, by phone or by visiting us in person at our Ardent Pêche shop.
