    Description

Metanium MGL B spinning reel by Shimano

The Core Solid magnesium frame naturally fits in the palm of your hand while providing a perfect housing for the internal mechanics. The MGL III spool rotates without the slightest resistance and, combined with the SVS Infinity system, allows you to cast very light lures. The Cross Carbon Drag brake will stop the most violent runs smoothly.

    Which casting reel to choose?

    Rod balance

Choose a reel suited to your rod, meaning a reel that will balance the rod, but also one that will allow you to cast the lures intended for the rod's power rating.

    The bearings

For a casting reel, the crucial point is the rotation capacity of the spool. The smoother the rotation and the lower the resistance to rotation, the farther you can cast and with lighter lure weights. It is therefore important to look carefully at the number and quality of bearings the reel has.

    The ratio

Another important point is the retrieve ratio. A standard ratio is 75-80cm of retrieve per crank turn. You will therefore need to choose your reel's ratio based on the fishing techniques you wish to use.

If you have any questions about choosing a rod, the appropriate rigs for your fishing area, or the type of line (braid, nylon, fluorocarbon) to put on your reel, do not hesitate to contact us via our website, by phone, or by visiting us in person at our Ardent Pêche store.
