Lure weight

To choose your rod correctly, you must first take into account the weight of the lures you will be casting. The maximum weight must not exceed the casting range specified for the rod.

Rod length

Then, as for length, a boat rod will tend to be shorter (up to around 2.30m) to stay within the sonar beam for example, but also because unlike a shore rod designed for long-distance casting which will be longer (from 2.40-2.50m), you will have fewer obstacles to avoid, less casting into the wind, etc.
