    Which casting reel to choose?

    Rod balance

Choose a reel suited to your rod, that is, a reel that will balance the rod but also allow you to cast the lures intended for the rod's power rating.

    The bearings

For a casting reel, the crucial point is the spool's rotation capacity. The smoother the rotation and the lower the resistance, the farther you will be able to cast and with lighter lure weights. It is therefore important to carefully consider the number and quality of the bearings in the reel.

    The gear ratio

Another important point is the retrieve ratio. A standard ratio is 75-80cm of retrieve per handle turn. You should therefore choose the gear ratio of your reel based on the fishing techniques you wish to use.

For any questions regarding the choice of a rod, rigs suited to your fishing area, or the line (nylon, fluorocarbon, braid) to put on your reel, do not hesitate to contact us via our website, by phone or by visiting us in person at the Ardent Pêche shop.

Utilisé une fois. Très léger et rien à dire avant d'avoir le premier ferage ?
