Description
An essential dubbing
Hare dubbing is used in the composition of a large number of classic flies such as dry flies and emergers.
It is a versatile material, appreciated by both beginner and experienced fly tyers alike.
It combines simplicity, effectiveness and realism, and remains to this day one of the most widely used dubbings in the world of fly fishing.
Use in fly tying
Hare dubbing can be used pure to achieve a very natural appearance.
It can also be blended with other fibers such as antron or synthetic materials to add sparkle or buoyancy.
A small amount is sufficient: simply roll the dubbing onto a lightly waxed tying thread or between two threads, then wrap it to form the body.
By lightly brushing the surface, a few hairs are raised to imitate the legs or gills of insects.
