A SAGE R8 Core 9' 4-weight rod for delicate fishing techniques

Finesse, precision, and light weight

The SAGE R8 Core 9' 4-weight stands out for its remarkable balance of finesse and power in reserve. It lets you fish dry flies and light nymphs with maximum precision while retaining enough responsiveness to handle active fish and longer drifts.

Its fast action provides excellent responsiveness while remaining progressive and comfortable, making delicate casts easier and improving presentation quality.

Exceptional line control

Thanks to R8 Core technology, this rod offers exceptionally precise line control during false casts, mends, and the final presentation. Optimized energy transfer helps keep loops clean and stable, even with technical casts or in slightly windy conditions.

This 9' 4-weight model is especially well suited to anglers seeking a delicate, controlled approach with an excellent feel for the line.

A lightweight SAGE SHIFT LT Squall 3/4 reel that’s a perfect match

Balance and comfort on the water

The SAGE SHIFT LT reel fits perfectly into this finesse-focused setup. Its ultralight design preserves the overall balance of the combo, essential for maintaining sensitivity and comfort during long sessions.

Its machined aluminum construction delivers strength and durability without compromising on light weight.

Precise, reliable sealed carbon drag

Equipped with a sealed carbon drag, the SHIFT LT manages line tension smoothly and consistently. The One Revolution adjustment system allows quick, precise changes, especially useful when fighting wary fish or fishing in strong current.

Even in a lightweight setup, this caliber of drag adds security and control.

A RIO Elite Gold WF4F fly line for impeccable presentations

A fly line designed for precision

The RIO Elite Gold WF4F perfectly rounds out this package, enhancing its precision and versatility. Its taper makes clean casts and stable loops easier while allowing delicate presentations thanks to a front taper suited to long leaders.

It’s ideal for dry-fly fishing but also performs extremely well with light nymphs or wet flies.

Shootability and sensitivity that work for the angler

The SlickCast coating delivers exceptional shootability, reducing friction and helping the line shoot more freely. The ConnectCore Plus core improves sensitivity and control, while MaxFloat Tip technology ensures excellent flotation for natural drifts.
