Sage Enforcer Sea Smoke: a reel built for the sea
The Sage Enforcer Sea Smoke is a reel specifically developed for saltwater fly fishing. Inspired by Sage's THERMO big game reels, it combines drag power, durability, rigidity and reliability to support anglers facing the most hard-fighting fish. In France, it is an excellent choice for rigging a rod intended for fly fishing for sea bass. On travel destinations, its potential extends from bonefish and permit to large tarpon and other powerful tropical fish.
In its Sea Smoke colorway, it also pairs particularly well with Sage SIGNAL rods.
A drag 50% more powerful
The drag is the true heart of the Enforcer. Sage claims a maximum drag power 50% greater than the SPECTRUM family, allowing the angler to apply more pressure on fish and to fully exploit the strength of heavy tippets. The 7/8 delivers up to 8 lb of drag at the arbor, compared to 15 lb for the 9/10 and up to 17 lb for the 11/12. This power becomes particularly valuable when facing fish that make violent runs. It also reduces the need to manually palm a spool spinning at full speed.
Durability and reliability in a marine environment
To meet the demands of saltwater and repeated fights, Sage has reinforced several components of the Enforcer.
Reinforced seals and mechanics
The reel features enlarged and improved seals, reinforced drag components and increased rigidity. The goal is to achieve more consistent performance and better durability during intensive use in saltwater. Sage also introduces a new reel foot with rounded edges, another detail reflecting a design entirely focused on the demands of saltwater anglers.
From sea bass to large tropical fish
With its three sizes, the Enforcer covers a very wide range of saltwater fishing situations. The 7/8 is the natural choice for sea bass fishing with a #7 or #8 rod, but also for bonefish-oriented trips.
The 9/10 steps up seriously in power and will perfectly complement #9 and #10 rods designed especially for permit, tarpon and other powerful tropical fish.
Finally, the 11/12 is the model intended for the heaviest fishing situations, when large tarpon and other extraordinary opponents demand a substantial drag reserve.
