The Sub-Sedge imitates a dead caddisfly drifting on the water surface, a prey particularly appreciated by trout and grayling when insects are carried away by the current.
Its polystyrene bead wrapped in a plastic film gives it a very natural presentation, allowing it to drift right at the surface film of the water and faithfully replicate the appearance of an inert insect.
Usage tip: avoid pinching the bead between your fingers to preserve its buoyancy.
Avoid false casts — the goal is to keep the fly wet so it stays just below the surface of the water. In fact, start by thoroughly wetting your fly before casting.
